Meet the first crop of cafFiends™!

These hyper-caffeinated on the go coffee swiggers are the latest CutUps™ creation. This spiky headed batch’s papers come courtesy of the Creative Caffiene Art Kit from Artellaland.
Using my cafFiends™ CutUps ™ I played further with a new animation software and came up with this. Excuse the quality it is a first proof of concept piece.

Created this little digital item in response to a challenge where we were given a bare tree to work with to create a spring tree. My thoughts went two ways the first will appear next month at the appropriate time but for now I’ll share the magic of Sakura (the cherry blossom).

Hearts are my inspiration as I continue to play with pattern making; using colours, textures and ideas garnered from such diverse sources as a silk shirt and a stress toy. Here are examples from the two sources I mentioned :

That is the thing about my driveway .. looks so innocuous and easy when covered in snow. One never guesses at the 3-6 foot drop off the right side if you don’t follow the tire tracks. Maybe that is why no one visits in the winter???

It’s a quiet and precious world before dawn when snowing. The world still sleeping as nature pulls up her own blankets as well. Playing with a digitized LOMO these days, the very early shots did not come out well but here at the lab I did get three nice shots. The first is just as light began to fill the day. The later was from about 8:30 am. I really like the vignette stylized one I was able to get.
The snow is light fluffy, clear and super crystalline. You can easily see all the edges and definitions of the flakes as they catch on coats and such before melting away. Nature in all it’s mysterious beauty can give us quite the show when we take the time to really see.
